Home again, (repeat)

[Saskatoon, Saskatchewan]
Song of the day: Don't Stop Me Now - Queen

First off, thanks to all the Grant MacEwan kids for a wicked-awesome day at school. For anyone that missed it (and I don't know how you could have), I was a student for a day in Theatre Arts at G-Mac today. WOW what an effin fun time. And special thanks to Leah and Cody for stopping by the site. Much appreciated.

But, alas, now I'm back in Saskatoon, ready to start touring tomorrow. Of course, I wouldn't have got back here without a driving a fair distance, and I wouldn't have started the drive without a proper photoshoot... I mean... proper goodbye.

I'm not gonna lie: sure didn't want to leave you two. You know how Christian Bale leaves with Teddy Roosevelt at the end of Newsies, only to return again because he knew his proper place? Yep, sure was ready to turn the car around once I passed the corner. But I didn't, cause I knew that I would, in fact, actually have to leave Edmonton at some point, and that just would have made it harder.

And on the drive home, this was the order:
Wicked - Musical Soundtrack
Happiness is Not a Fish That You Can Catch - Our Lady Peace
Brennan's Starter Punk CD - Various Artists, compiled by Andrew Boryski
Tell All Your Friends - Taking Back Sunday
Are We Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now? - Moneen
Straylight Run - Straylight Run

Now, aside from the fact that each CD kept me awake because of the change in music genres between CD's, but once in a while a disc would raise certain questions or make certain statements that got me thinking.

For example:
The title of Moneen's latest album is a question in itself: Are we really happy with who we are right now? And Taking Back Sunday's "No I in Team" leaves the line hanging: Best friends means... And finally, Straylight Run makes the comment that: There are no perfect endings.

My thoughts:
Yes, I am in fact happy with who I am right now. I am a talented, but extrememly lucky, young adult with a support system of friends and family that is ridiculously strong beyond all reason. I am enjoying the time I have, whatever it is I happen to be doing at any given moment, and I would like to say that I don't have any regrets about anything, off the top of my head.
I also realized that Best Friends Means: driving wherever and whenever at whatever time of the year to do absolutely nothing and absolutely everything at the same time. You don't understand how hard it was for me to leave tonight. Having said that, Best Friends also Means: remembering that while new people come into your life, you should never forget those that are still beside you. Boys, I'm sorry that I wasn't home for New Years, but now that I think of it: I flew home from Calgary so that last year's party(ies) could happen. So really, I figure I'm on the level.

And as for there being no perfect endings: I don't think I could come up with a more perfect ending to our perfect week. I was so happy today at school, and last night on our surprise adventure, and everynight I got to hangout/sleepover with you two, and... just everything. I seriously cannot thank you enough.

Well, I go back to work tomorrow, so I should probably hit the hay. And yes, it's work. Don't give me that bullshit. Especially you two. Look at what you do all day...

And what I might soon be doing, too...
