< angry rant>

[Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan]
Song of the day: (Haven't listened to music yet, but probably something hardcore)

Alright. This is not meant to sound 'Diva-ish' or that I'm starting to get big-headed, but I'm am SICK of having public shows that flop. We had between 30 and 40 people at our CD RELEASE CONCERT in Regina last night, and I'm sure that a fair chunk of those people had comp tickets. The worst of it is: the show was effin awesome! Everything sounded wicked, all of the transitions were smooth, and everyone had fun... but there was no one there!! It BLOWS having to perform for audiences that could fill your first three rows, but they're scattered across the venue suited for 200.

See, we know what the problem is, but it's not easy telling your bosses that they suck at promoting. Especially cause these are the best bosses in the entire world. It's just... they sent posters to the highschool that we performed in to put up, and we were told to go to a mall (the SMALLEST and shittiest mall in Regina, I might add) to hand out flyers. WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO ACCOMPLISH!!!! I guess we were on the News at Noon too, and I heard some people even came out to the show from that. But we just don't have anyone coming out.

Want to know another let down? As awesome as the show in Saskatoon was (and that was pretty effin awesome) we only sold 150 tickets. There were a number of people there with free tickets (from Radio, us handing them out, etc.)so there might have been close to 250 in the audience. But it felt like there were 400 people there, and there should have been, for all the promotion the four of us did. Maybe it's just a full house that makes the difference. If close to every seat is filled, no matter how many seats that is, it feels SO much better.

By the way: anyone driving from Moose Jaw to Regina in the last few days sure didn't do it very fast. Apparently there was freezing rain one night, and the highway between the Jaw and the...Regina.. was super slippery. (I was going to shorten 'Regina', but that wouldn't have sounded good at ALL). There were at least 10 cars in the ditch, two of which were flipped over. But by the time we were driving home last night, the roads were clear as could be.

Speaking of Moose Jaw, hopefully the Release tonight will be better. We've done 2 radio spots, we sang at the Warriors game (which a TON of people saw) and we... what else did we do... oh, we left flyers at all the highschools (but seriously, how many people can THAT bring in).

Whatever. I'm going to take a shower and revive the voice that I lost during our THRILLING concert yesterday.

This Girl? Not a fan of angry ranting Cuff... Not even a chuckle at rachel's "that's what see said!"

Cheer up baby. I agree with every word, for the amount of hardwork and talent you guys put into that show, there should never be an empty seat. xoxo Keep your chin up.

I'm seriously sorry to hear that.
[In Dec. I was playing at Mystic Java; There were posters up, emails going out; I handed out over 100 flyers to my students... the turn-out was definately not great, and there were only three people I even KNEW there.]
It takes a lot of poise and showmanship for you guys to give a killer show even in the midst of disappointment. I'm always proud of you, no matter how many people show up.

For our boy:

"And we can't forget your style, somehow it was like you were the first to listen to everything we said.
Our smile's are open wounds without you...and our hands are tied to pages inked to bring you back.

Tonight the headphones will deliver you the words that we can't say. Tonight we're writing you, A million miles away. Tonight is all about "We miss you." Tonight is all about "We miss you" now.

These friends are, new friends are golden."

it sucks because i can read your face right now, and it is the face of MAD. and that sure as heck isn't a face that i am used to, and i'm sure it's not one that i would like. BUT i am mighty impressed that even though you're effin pissed off you still managed to make quite the funny joke "The Jaw and ....Regina". I laughed, even though it was a joke made at the peak of your furiousNESS. (point: rachel).

i love you darling. and i am so proud of you guys for having an awesome show none-the-less.
people just don't know what they're missing.
BUT I SURE DO! 13 days until the lovefest.

So if I had a life...and money...and time...and if I wasn't about a billion years away from Saskatoon, I would have come out. I have heard some of your guys' stuff and I think that it sounds great. I'm sorry to hear how dissapointed you are, but don't let it drag you down. As long as you know how well the show went, then thats all what matters. Everyone else just missed out on a fantastic performance. Therefore, it's their loss. Hope you have a great night.
